Summary
Introduction
The Give Badge feature is a way to recognize your team members for their efforts, achievements, or just overall day to day things that they helped you through. Whether someone went above and beyond, showed great loyalty, or demonstrated customer love, this feature lets you celebrate them with a personalized badge and a message.
How to Access
- Toggle the Give Badge button located at the top right of the Cafe Screen.
- This opens the badge selection window (as shown below).
How to Give a Badge
When you open the Give Badge window, you'll see a list of available badges, each represented by a card with an icon and a point value.
Note:
The badges shown will vary depending on how your company has configured them.
You can choose a badge in one of two ways:
Quick Select (Default View)
Click directly on one of the badge cards shown. This method is great for smaller sets of badges or when you already know the badge you're looking for.
Browse All Badges (Expanded View)
If your company has a large number of badges, use the grid icon (little squares on the right side of the badge carousel) to open the Badge Selection Modal. Here, you can search for a badge by name, see all available badges at once and click on any badge to preview and select it.
Each badge may have a fixed value (e.g., 100 points) or allow you to set a custom amount within a defined range.
Once you've selected the badge, proceed with choosing the recipient and writing your message.
Your remaining budget is displayed in green on the right to help you manage your allocations.
You can format your message with:
- Bold, Italic, and underline
- Bullet points or numbered lists
- Emojis
- GIFs
Note:
Formatting, emojis, and GIFs will not appear in notifications sent through Slack or Microsoft Teams, but they will be visible within the platform.
Once you’re happy with the badge, recipient, and message, click the send icon ➤ to complete the recognition.
Record a Video Message
Sometimes, words aren’t enough — that’s why you can also record a short video message to go along with your badge!
Click the camera icon 🎥 in the message area to open the video recorder. A recording window will pop up so you can capture your message directly in your browser. Once you're done, the video is attached to your badge and viewable by the recipient within the Hub.
Note:
Videos won’t appear in Slack or Microsoft Teams — they’re only viewable inside the platform.
Groups aliases
For managers and administrators, it is possible to send badges to all team members by selecting the desired teams at once. To display the teams in the "Select users" field, you need to enable this option by going to Settings -> Recognition -> Badges and checking the "Show Group Options" option.
