Introduction

Hype is a quick and exciting way for employees to boost a recognition they love. When you see a badge that truly deserves extra attention — you can Hype it!

Each Hype transfers a small number of crewcoins from your allowance to the colleague who received the badge, making recognition more meaningful and engaging for everyone.

How to Enable Hype

To activate the Hype functionality, an Administrator must:

1. Go to Recognition > Badges
2. Enable the option Hype Badges
3. Define the Hype Value (1), which determines how many crewcoins each Hype is worth
4. Define, if necessary, the daily Hype limit (2) that each employee can give.
5. Enable Hypes in group badges (3), if desired. If you don't enable this feature, your team will only be able to give Hypes to individual badges.

Each Hype value will be deducted from the employee’s allowance and credited to the balance of the employee who received the hyped badge.

Important: By setting a daily limit on Hypes per employee, upon reaching the limit, the user is alerted and will only be able to hype again the following day.

Which Badges Can Be Hyped

Employees can Hype individual recognition badges only, including:

• Peer badges
• Survey badges
• Automated badges (Birthday and Anniversary)

How to Give a Hype

Once the Hype feature is enabled, employees will see a Hype button on all eligible badges within the Crewhu Hub.

Important: Hype is only available in the new Crewhu Hub. It’s not available in the classic Crewhu interface or integrations like Teams and Slack.

Hype Confirmation Flow

When a user clicks the Hype button:

1. A confirmation message is displayed to confirm the action.
2. The user can choose not to see this message again in the future.
3. After confirming, the system will display the remaining allowance, so the user knows how many crewcoins are left for recognitions.

Hype Rules

• Each employee can Hype a badge only once.
• The Hype amount is always deducted from the giver’s allowance.
• The same amount is credited to the receiver’s balance.

This ensures that Hypes remain meaningful and intentional, boosting engagement and recognition across your team.
