Summary
The Automated Public Testimonial Feed allows you to set up personalized widgets containing clients' feedback messages received through survey answers, and showcase them on your website or another marketing property.
-
Business Purposes
- Showcase feedback received through surveys to enhance the company's reputation and credibility.
- Use public feedback to boost sales closure rates and improve organic search rankings through SEO.
- Maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
-
Use Case
Imagine the ability to dynamically showcase the positive reviews clients provide daily. Let's consider the example below:
In the above example you are achieving two things:
1) You are adding credibility to your brand. Not only are you showcasing your great customer service, but you are also showcasing in real-time what your clients think of your company. Wow!
2) You are also dynamically adding native text to your website which will improve your SEO rankings and drive more Marketing Qualified Leads to your website.
We repeatedly hear from our clients that they increase sales conversion using Crewhu by:
1) Adding an anonymized Crewhu Customer Satisfaction report to their sales presentation.
2) Giving prospects a tour of their facility showcasing the Crewhu customer service dashboards.
By incorporating the value of these two strategies into your website through a live automated feed, you can simply sit back and watch the traffic grow and new business opportunities emerge.
-
Step-by-step
-
1 - Enable the Automated Public Testimonial Feed feature
To enable this feature, go to Settings > CSAT and check the Testimonial Widget box:
-
2 - Auto-Moderation (CSAT)
Select when to publish testimonials for each rating. The options are: Never, Automatically publish always, and Automatically publish only with comments.
IMPORTANT: If you'd choose to publish testimonials manually, you can choose Never in the three options above. For more information on moderating responses and manual publishing, refer to Appendix A.
-
3 - Timeframe
All Time is the timeframe default, but you can choose to get testimonials from the Last 30, 60, or 90 days.
-
4 - Max # of Testimonials
Choose between 3 and 60 testimonials to be showcased on your widget. In step 9, you’ll be able to preview your widget to see how it will look and how the number of testimonials will affect format and size.
-
5 - Show anonymous Surveys
Check this box if you want to display anonymous survey feedback alongside the ones with client information. If unchecked, the widget will only showcase feedback that contains client information. Anonymous is defined as a survey response that does not have an associated end-user.
-
6 - HTML Template
Here you can choose the format of your HTML template. The options are Grid, Stacked, Slider, and Custom*. Under step 9 you’ll see some examples.
This is not the source code of your Testimonial Feed, only an option to change its design. Make sure that the updated version is copied back into the box so the Testimonial Snippet can retrieve the design and publish accordingly.
*Custom: If a change is made, the HTML Template option will change to "custom". Crewhu support can only troubleshoot issues for default templates. If a custom template is not working Crewhu support will reset the code to the original settings.
Note:
To completely remove the company and contact name from the widget, it will be necessary to delete the lines below from the HTML code:
- To remove *Company *delete this line: <div class="crw-tst-company"><%= survey.customer_data.customer_name %></div>
- To remove Contact delete this line: <div class="crw-tst-name"><%= >survey.customer_data.contact_anon_name %></div>
-
7 - CSS Template
Choose a color scheme for your widget. The options are Dark, Light, and Custom*. See some examples in step number 9.
This is not the source code of your Testimonial Feed, only an option to change its design. Make sure that the updated version is copied back into the box so the Testimonial Snippet can retrieve the design and publish accordingly.
*Custom: If a change is made, the CSS Template option will change to "custom". Crewhu can only troubleshoot issues for default templates. If a custom template is not working Crewhu support will reset the code to the original settings.
-
8 - View/Copy Testimonial Snippet
Click on the View/Copy Snippet button to preview the testimonial's appearance and/or copy the snippet.
The Embedded snippet type will embed the text from the survey responses directly into your website. This type is better for SEO but may conflict with the existing HTML on your site.
-
9 - Save and Copy to Clipboard
If you are satisfied with the preview, click the Save button at the top right corner of your Survey Settings page. Now you can Copy the snippet to Clipboard and publish it on your webpage. Ensure that only the Testimonial Snippet is copied to your website, not the entire HTML or CSS code.
Below is an example of a website HTML page. The line highlighted in green is the Crewhu snippet pasted to your HTML code:
Note that, if the HTML or CSS code is pasted directly into your website, the messages won't load correctly and a similar error will be shown as below. Make sure that only the Testimonial Snippet is being copied to your website.

Preview
The next image shows how the testimonials widget will look based on the settings Grid and Dark.
Note: by clicking on the down arrow underneath the testimonial, you can expand the box to see the whole comment.

Appendix A: Manually choose testimonials to publish
After activating the Automated Public Testimonial Feed feature and setting all the options on Step 2 to Never, go to your CSAT history. Locate the surveys that you want to publish and check their selection box. Next, click on the Actions button, and under Mark as Published click on Selected, as in the image below:
Also on the Survey History, you can easily visualize the testimonials that you selected to publish by clicking on the header Published highlighted in the image below or selecting the Published option in the filter dropdown list.
Note:
- You can also unpublish any unwanted testimonials on your website;
- Surveys that are uploaded via CSV can not be published on the testimonial widget.
